Engineer's noteA program calculates. It does not visit the plant, choose the sources of release or judge how the ventilation really works. That stays with the engineer, which is why we do not deliver our own software's results without an engineer's check.

Per project, fixed, in writing
| Item | Typical time |
|---|---|
| One calculation question | 2–3 working days |
| One area with zone drawings | Agreed per project |
| Repeat work under a framework agreement | Agreed per project |
There is no licence, subscription or training fee. You choose the scope part by part and the price follows it. We send a fixed-price offer within one working day of seeing your documents. The price depends on the number of sources of release, the documents and drawings available, and the scope you choose; there are no hourly rates, and it is lower if you enter the data yourself. What you charge your client is up to you. Quotations exclude taxes.
If you decide to buy software: what to check
ATEX software falls into four groups: zone calculation tools, gas dispersion and consequence models, documentation and inspection systems, and templates. Whichever you choose, ask:
- Which edition of IEC 60079-10-1 does it follow? The current edition is from 2020.
- Does it show the formulas, the inputs and the assumptions? Can you repeat the result by hand?
- Does it cover dust to IEC 60079-10-2?
- What does it give you at the end: zone drawings, a report, an editable file?
- Does its output fit your national frame, such as DSEAR, the TRGS 720 series or NPR 7910?
- How many projects a year will you run? Is the licence worth it for that number?
For small parts of the work you can use our free battery room, LEL and dust layer calculators. They do not give a zone decision.
Frequently asked questions
Can I buy the software or install it myself?
Not at the moment. The software runs on our side and we do not sell licences; you pay for each project. If you would like to use it regularly in your own work, tell us. We would like to hear from you.
I already have software. Is this still useful?
Yes. You can hand us the calculations and the report in busy periods, or compare your program's results with an independent calculation.
My client wants the lowest-cost route. Can we narrow the scope?
Yes. You choose the scope part by part: start with a plain scope and add parts if needed. The content your national rules require stays in every level, and parts you do not choose are listed in the report as out of scope. If part of a site needs more depth, we tell you in writing.
What if a new machine or a new area is added at the site?
If we prepared the document with you, you do not have to start again. We add the new equipment, area, source of release or substance to the package and update the report as a new revision. The price covers only the added part and the sections it affects.
Is the result automatic?
No. The software does the calculation and the formatting. An engineer checks the inputs, the sources of release and the zones before delivery, and every sheet shows the formulas so that you can check them too.
How long does it take?
We state the time in the offer. A single calculation usually takes 2–3 working days; the size of the site and the state of the data set the rest.
What do you need to know about my client?
Only the technical data. We do not need your client's name, and you can remove people's names, signatures and telephone numbers from the documents.
Will you approach my client?
No. We never contact your client or send them an offer, and our agreement says so.
What if there is a mistake in a calculation?
We check our work before delivery and correct any mistake of ours free of charge. Our responsibility towards you is set out in our agreement.
Does it suit every plant?
It suits best the areas our ready modules cover. For more complex processes we look at the documents first and tell you which part we can take on.
Can the report be verified?
Reports issued under the Axosfer name carry a QR code on every page. If the work is issued under your name, we agree this in the offer.
Does this give me ISO 45001 certification?
No. The report is not an ISO 45001 certificate, and certification remains the decision of the certification body. You can use its hazard, risk, measure, owner and deadline records in your system.
Do you cover the United States?
Yes, as a subcontractor to your consultant: area classification to NFPA 497 and 499 and dust hazard analysis support, marked "prepared by Axosfer". See where we work.
I do not want to do the work myself. Can you take the whole job?
Yes. See hazardous area classification and where we work and how sign-off works.
